About Me

Twelve years ago, I moved to North Carolina from New York to be closer to my daughter and her family. Today, my husband and I are proud grandparents of three, with our two youngest grandchildren attending Lewisville Middle School. As both a resident and a grandparent, I am deeply invested in the success and well-being of this community.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience working with children, families, and community organizations. I served on the Yonkers Board of Education in New York as a Member, Vice President, and President, representing a district of 25,000 students. In that role, I worked closely with city government and community partners to strengthen schools and support families.

My 27-year career as a school social worker in New York City gave me countless opportunities to help families and community partners navigate crises, solve problems, and find stability.  Public Safety Perspective: During my internship with the New York City Police Department, I gained a deep appreciation for the dedication and compassion of police officers who protect and serve their communities every day.

Commitment to Veterans

My family has a proud history of military service. My father served in the Army during World War II, my brother served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, and my sister served in the Army as a nurse. Their service instilled in me a strong commitment to our veterans and active-duty service members. As a community leader, I will work to honor their contributions and ensure their talents are valued and supported.
